When compared to the Zenbook series, this laptop is thin. However, this is quite normal considering the price class. For its own thickness is 1.79 cm. Oh well, speaking of bags, in this laptop marketing box there is no special bag. In the marketing box there is only a laptop, charger, manual, and additional slots equipment if the HDD/SSD is 2.5 inches.

As for the charger, this laptop offers a DC-in port instead of USB Type-C Power Delivery. The status of the DC-in port on the right side of the laptop coincides with the HDMI port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, audio jack, and a microSD card reader.

There is no power button on the side. The power button is on the side of the keyboard instead. The place is top, but not near the "Del" key. On the touchpad, there is a small box in the upper right corner. At first we thought that the unit we tested would have a fingerprint and that box was the location.

However, the box only acts as a right click. Not as a fingerprint or as a button to turn on the numbers on the touchpad which is usually found on ASUS laptops.

Monitor


Just as the name implies, and as mentioned earlier, this ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E offers an OLED monitor. The number 5 in the code name indicates that this laptop has a 15.6-inch monitor. The monitor itself is a Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel monitor with a monitor-to-body ratio of 85 percent.

monitor itself does not feel wide because of NanoEdge Display technology. This technology makes laptop monitors have thin bezels so that the body dimensions can be slimmer like a 14-inch laptop. Most are quite thick on the bottom and top.

CPU

The ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E that we tested is a variation that uses the i3-1115G4 Tiger-Lake-U based on 10nm fabrication and has a speed of 3 GHz. This processor has 2 cores and 4 threads with an optimal TDP of 28 watts.

The processor is a processor that is comfortable when used for productive purposes, such as office work. For example writing, doing work, easy design change work and videos. If you look at the results of the Geekbench 5 benchmark, the score obtained is 8,076. Pretty big score.

Meanwhile, for testing Cinebench R15, the score of this laptop is in the range of 490 cb to 506 cb. Depends on the model used. Oh well, the model problem refers to the performance choice of the ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E.

Battery


The ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E is powered by a 42Wh 3-cells lithium-ion battery. This battery can be said to have a long life during standard writing usage. But when you use it to watch videos and connect to the internet, I don't know why it feels wasteful. Watching a 20-minute 720p video only reduces the range by 9 percent.

Luckily, what we love about this laptop is the pen time fast filling. From 15% to 75% power, it only takes about an hour or 60 minutes. While to be full it takes an additional almost an hour.

Graphic

As an affordable laptop, it seems logical that the ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E does not add an additional graphics card. The graphics performance of this laptop only relies on Intel UHD Graphics which has 48 execution units. Therefore, we don't really expect much to use this laptop to play games.

But it doesn't feel right if we don't test this laptop for playing games. With 4GB RAM support, we choose to play Counter Strike Global Offensive or CSGO games. We play this game at 720p and feel comfortable alias playable. However, for 1080p resolution, the game feels less comfortable. It's safer to play CSGO games at 720p when using this laptop.

Originally, we would definitely test Genshin Impact. Unfortunately, seeing the performance of CSGO, we canceled playing the game, what's more, Genshin Impact needs 8GB of RAM. It's definitely not pretty playing that game.

Based on that, we think that the ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E that we tested is not suitable for playing games. It is likely that the story will be different if you use a different version, the processor is more powerful and has an additional graphics card.

Hard disk

The ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E that we tested, came with a 256GB SSD. The type of SSD used is an NVMe PCIE SSD which can certainly produce fast performance. Based on our tests using CrystalDiskMark 8, the SSD in this ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513E achieved a read speed of 1,777 MB/s and a write speed of 374 MB/s.

We are quite surprised by the results of writing or writing which is quite far from reading it. Generally the span is half. Therefore, we tested again using CrystalDiskMark versus 7. As a result, the read speed was 1,781 MB/s and the write speed was in the 960 MB/s range.

Features
